I Had to Knit a Beetroot?! PDF Print E-mail

Don't even ask...I think it's because I bought a bunch of beets that day and the deep plum against the green leaf was so beautiful I went straight to my wool stash.

Knitted Beetroot
I just had to do it...

I used a sparkling lurex purble colour for the body of the beetroot, then did a stem in purple wool and used a green varigated mohair for the leaf. Then I made a simple hat using a silvery-grey Noro yarn.

Hat in Veggie Patch
Her it is in my weedy veggie patch next to the red cabbages.

The biggest challenge was getting my son to wear it.

Hat on Bay Trea
Here it is on a bay tree (son refused point blank to wear it).
